Joy in red deer brown.

Our own deer enclosure.

Directly adjacent to the hotel garden is the wild animal enclosure with what is now quite a sizeable herd of red deer. Berni and his herd live here. Although the shy animals can usually only be admired from a certain distance, they are always happy to receive a visit.

Experience nature: observe & understand animals.

Encounters with red deer.

However, if you stand quietly or sit on the ground and let time work for you, you can enjoy experiencing nature as it is. Relaxed. Real. Beautiful. You can see the animals grazing, observe their body language, experience the animals with their calves and become part of the community for a moment...

By the way: The number of ends on a stag's antlers has nothing to do with its age. Red deer reach their strongest antlers when they are 10 to 14 years old. In older stags, the antlers lose ends, mass, weight and length. The number of ends of the antlers is determined by doubling the number of ends of the rod with the most ends. If the number of ends is the same (e.g. 2x7), this is referred to as 14 ends. If the number of ends is unequal (e.g. 6+7), it is called an odd 14-ended antler.
