Climbing in Upper Austria

Ferrata fans can train on the Bannholzmauer via ferrata and the varied via ferrata on the Poppenberg with fantastic views of the Stodertal valley. The difficult ascent to the highest peak in the Totes Gebirge, the Grosser Priel (2,515m), via the longest via ferrata in Austria, is a real challenge.

Near Windischgarsten, the Rading climbing area attracts climbers with shorter routes, while the well-known Kampermauer on the Hengstpass not only inspires sport climbers of all levels, but also some multi-pitch routes.

Glide over the turquoise-blue Steyr on a Flying Fox in the largest high ropes course in Upper Austria or dive into the Gleinkersee for a pleasantly cool finish - our high ropes courses don't just entice you with the usual challenges and adrenaline rushes.

Even in bad weather, climbing enthusiasts can pursue their hobby in the newly designed climbing hall of the Windischgarsten Alpine Club. The hall is approx. 14 m high, with overhangs, suspended top ropes, as well as an indoor bouldering area and the largest bouldering block in Upper Austria outside.
