Skiing & snowboarding
The Hotel Sperlhof is located close to two first-class ski areas, Hinterstoder and Wurzeralm, which have 70 kilometers of perfectly groomed slopes of varying difficulty levels from "blue" to "black". There are a total of 20 lifts in the two ski areas. Hinterstoder also has the Sunny Kids Park for future ski stars and dwarf nest care for the little ones. Enjoy skiing in Hinterstoder and the Wurzeralm during your vacation.
Cross-country skiing & biathlon
For those who prefer an idyllic setting, cross-country skiing in Windischgarsten offers more than 130 km of groomed cross-country trails at four different altitudes (from 600 to 1,400 meters above sea level). Mostly equipped with classic and skating tracks, you can glide through the winter sports region with the snow-covered landscape always in view. Worth mentioning is the "Innerrosenau" cross-country skiing and biathlon center in Upper Austria, which offers taster biathlon courses, among other things.
Go on tours
On tour again? The pioneers among alpinists discover the Pyhrn Priel winter sports region through personal ascents and in harmony with nature. Numerous ski tours bring you closer to the summit step by step, while liberating descents on untouched pistes complete the crystal-clear experience. Tip: On full moon nights, you can even ski up to the Wurzeralm until 10 p.m. and ski down again after a rest at the hut.
Snowshoeing in Upper Austria
In winter, lovers of tranquillity will definitely get their money's worth at the Sperlhof. Hiking through the snow-covered forests of the Kalkalpen National Park with snowshoes is a particularly impressive way to experience winter nature. Cross-country or simply follow your nose on the popular snowshoe hikes: In addition to guided ranger tours on the trail of forest animals, there are also three high-altitude snowshoe routes with great views in the two ski areas.
Hiking winter wonders
Sperlwinter has it all: lots of nature, peace and quiet, the magic of snowflakes and, above all, an "unlimited" range of activities. The mountains and peaks of the surrounding Limestone Alps in the Pyhrn-Priel region beckon as soon as you wake up, laughing in the window and calling out in a friendly manner - either tranquil and tame or fluffy and rocking, depending on the winter weather. So it's best to get out into nature and up one mountain or another! Around Windischgarsten and in the eight other communities in the vacation region, there are more than 100 km of cleared paths for relaxing walks in the clear mountain air. In the early or late afternoon, a visit to the wellness areas at the Hotel Sperlhof is well deserved. In between, perhaps a little culinary excursion to the Sperlhof buffet for an afternoon snack? This is available daily from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm!
